Protodeacon Nazari Polataiko and Matushka Tatiana in 1996. Very happy with my purchase, which will be a gift. The Icon Studio was established by Fr. I like this icon because it shows both Adam and Eve being released from death. ![]() ![]() Uncut Mountain also made a special effort to get this to us by a certain date with no extra charge, which we greatly appreciated. It is well laminated and the paint on the wood is subtle and complements the icon. We first saw it in the Orthodox Study Bible and have wanted to get it ever since. The white of the Lord' s and the angels' robes are so bright and seem symbolic of the hope we have. I love this icon because of the contrast in colors. Oh well, I settled for the vibrant colors because it was a gift for a family member. I was looking for an icon that has this level of vibrancy and the older style that shows death being bound. I really like the color in this icon and it really shines through. I gave it as a gift and the recipient was delighted. The depiction of the resurrection is dramatic, with the contrast between the white of the risen Christ' s raiment and the surrounding scene attracting the eye and driving the story being told. The icon arrived in good time and in excellent condition. This distinction is carried over into iconography and can be considered. This distinction is clear in the Scriptures, where the Divine is light and illuminating, and the absence of God is considered as darkness. I immediately framed it and placed it in my ' prayer area'. The overriding theme of colour in iconography, and in almost every religion, is the distinction between light and dark. This particular artist rendered the face of Our Lord Jesus, and His stance, with such power and resolve, it takes my breath away. Such a blessing to have this beautiful Icon. We were so blessed to open it and find it as beautiful as the one we' d given away. Also, there is no margin on the print which makes framing it a bit tricky.īeautifully mounted. The detail is great, but I wish the picture was a bit brighter, it' s kind of dark.
